Heather joins Valerio Therapeutics with over 10 years experience in Clinical Development and Pharmacovigilance within the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries. Heather’s forward-thinking and analytical expertise has propelled her to leadership roles of increasing responsibility involving safety profile development and risk management. Heather previously held positions at Epizyme including Hematology Medical Director and roles in Clinical Science where she provided support to Drug Safety on many projects. She was an integral member of the Epizyme team that achieved successful approval of TAZVERIK® for follicular lymphoma, and her work at TransMedics was instrumental in the approval of the OCS^TM Lung. Heather received her clinical training in General Surgery, Surgical Oncology and other surgical subspecialities as well as Trauma and Critical Care Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to her MD from the University of Arizona, she has a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the same institution with academic research experience in gene therapy.
